"Tournament officials and other staff of a tournament (including the
Tournament Organizer and Scorekeeper) may participate in a
DCI-sanctioned tournament of which they are a tournament official or
staff if (and only if) the tournament is of the following event types:
* Friday Night Magic
* Prerelease
* Launch Party
* Magic Game Day
* Other non-Premier Magic Tournaments
If tournament officials and other staff play in the event, it must be
run at Regular REL and will have its k-value set at 8. If tournament
officials play in the event and the event it not one of the allowed
event types list above, the event will be invalidated. Tournament
officials and staff and required to officiate events fairly and without
regard to their own self-interest."

This means two things:
1) Carter does not need to know about judges playing in their events (as
outlined above --playing in their own Grand Prix Trial or PTQ is still a
Very Bad Thing ).
2) You can play in events! (That "Other non-Premier" clause basically
means normal Magic events.)


Obviously, this is a major attitude adjustment. There are simple
answers as to why the change:
1) The DCI is reducing the amount of fun-suck-outing that we do. Have
fun playing!
2) The DCI believes you have the integrity to handle your event duties
properly and without bias no matter where you are in the event. (And
there's always the DCI boogeyman to come get you if that seems to be a
problem.)
3) Over the years, your professionalism and integrity has been hard
earned. The DCI believes that players know and respect that image that
you have worked so hard to build up. The DCI believes that your
integrity is so well established that players will understand the
ability to play and remain unbiased while also appreciate the chance to
interact with judges on familiar terms.

So be mindful that we as certified judges always carry the burden of
being fair, but go out there and have some fun!

ouais j'ai vu ça ce matin

perso cela ne m'inquiète pas plus que ça, c'est plutôt une bonne chose en fait.

Je m'explique:
dans une AP comme dimanche, il est évident qu'aucun des arbitres ne jouera on a trop de trucs à faire pour ça et les joueurs le percevrait pas très bien.

Par contre lorsqu'un orga organise un FNM c'est bien qu'il fasse le 8iième joueurs plutôt que d'annuler le tournoi

Je pense m^me que cela ne peut que profiter aux petits tournois (style AP magasins) ou il est difficile d'avoir un arbitre présent (c'est le cas au Tampon) car c'est pendant ces tournois que les arbitres jouent, or s'il arbitre en même temps cela peut permettre de résoudre bien mieux des pbs survenant pendant le tournoi.

Après bien évidemment je considère que chaque arbitre a suffisamment de professionnalisme pour gérer les choses comme elle se doit avec un maximum d'intégrité, et si ce n'est pas le cas l'orga ne le prendra plus comme arbitre ou les joueurs ne joueront plus dans ces tournois.

Par contre va falloir éduquer un peu les joueurs mais cela se fera tout seul je pense
